A sight for sore eyes

Enter the magical world of glass and light…Chihuly’s exhibits at the Boston MFA are simply captivating. All I knew of his work were the ceilings in the foyer of Bellagio in Las Vegas and I was quite excited to see the exhibit which had some amazing works, the Lime Green Icicle Tower and the Ikebana Boat. Of all the exhibit pieces at the MFA I was most enchanted by the Ikebana boat. It is said that Chihuly got his inspiration for this while he was in Finland. When I looked at this boat I was so mesmerized and I was wondering how the boat might look if taken out in the water. I bet the reflections of sunlight on the water and the glass would be simply breathtaking. The exhibit, aptly named, “Through the looking-glass” indeed takes you into a wonderland made of glass. His signature “Persian ceiling” looks divine. Dave Chihuly has revolutionized the art of blown glass and has taken it to the level of magnificent sculptures and architecture.
